Event Details
First aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and AED (automated external defibrillator) skills can save lives at the library or at home. Earn an American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED two-year certificate by participating in this important safety training.
This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. It is a blended learning course--including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session--that meets OSHA/workplace requirements.
The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion. You'll want to allow at least 3-4 hours to complete the online portion. After completion, you will have access to proof that you completed the online curriculum which you will show your instructor on the day of your in-person skill session.
The in-person skill session, guided by American Red Cross instructors, will take place at the SCKLS building from 10 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024. When you arrive, you will show the instructors your proof of online completion.
As a participant, you will receive:
- 2-year certification for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (upon completion)
- Free digital training materials
- Free digital certificate
Please be aware that there are limited seats available for this course with no more than two registrants allowed per SCKLS member library.

Registration Details | Registration is limited to 25 participants with no more than two participants per SCKLS member library. Deadline for registration is July 26, 2024. Cancellations are requested 24 hours in advance of the event.
Course details | This blended learning course consists of an online portion (approximately 3-4 hours of asynchronous instruction) and an instructor-led, in-person skill session. Access to the online portion will be provided the week of July 29, 2024 via email. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class session. Proof of completion will be required. The in-person session will not be recorded--you must attend in person for certification.
Cancellations | If you register but are unable to complete the online course requirements or are unable to attend the in-person training session, please notify SCKLS immediately.
