Back by popular demand! SCKLS joyfully invites you to revel in a day of rejuvenation, exploration, and celebration! Join us in experiencing a museum like no other... that brings to life a century of American children's literature for visitors of all ages.
The Rabbit hOle, located in North Kansas City, is the first museum of its kind in the United States. Spanning three floors, the Rabbit hOle brings countless works of children’s literature to life in an immersive, multi-sensory, narrative landscape filled with discoverable environments.
Join our SCKLS crew in Wichita, where you can safely park your car, board a luxury motorcoach, then kick back and relax! Catching up with old and new friends will make the three-and-a-half-hour trip fly by. Upon arrival, you will be treated to lunch, followed by an introductory Q&A and self-guided tour, all compliments of SCKLS! You'll have plenty of time to meander through the exhibits at your own pace. And don't forget to visit the Lucky Rabbit Bookstore, a treasure trove of children's and YA books.
During this fun-filled day, you will:
- Explore a one-of-a-kind museum that nourishes, empowers, and inspires the reading lives of all who visit
- Celebrate the colorful voices and creative images inspired by contemporary stories through 100-year-old classics
- Connect with others over a shared love of reading while forming a network of library support
Journey with us to this radical literary wonderland, where you can catch a ride with Nana and CJ on the bus to the Last Stop on Market Street; whisper “Goodnight Moon” in the quiet dark of the great green room; or find yourself scaling the cliffs of My Father’s Dragon. Don't miss this daylong adventure celebrating the power of story.
