Storytime Swap Workshop

A new storytime season is upon us! And there's no better way to celebrate and prepare than with youth service friends and PIZZA! Let's gather together at Gambino's Pizza to share fun storytime successes and collect new ideas from creative SCKLS colleagues.

Be inspired by new books, songs, rhythms, fingerplays, movement activities, and more. Be organized with a SCKLS-provided notebook to collect ideas by theme, season, or month. And be full to bursting with fresh, new ideas... and a delicious pizza lunch compliments of SCKLS!  

Packed with pizza, fun, and fellowship, this experience will also include important learning as Robin Hargrave, youth and school services coordinator, will review the best practices of early literacy provided by ALA's Every Child Ready to Read. And you will get to share one of your favorite storytime experiences with your fellow librarians. Please bring a copy of your storytime plan to share with the group. You are welcome to use this template as a guide.

At this workshop, you will:

• Consider how early literacy best practices are being implemented into storytimes
• Discuss storytimes
• Practice scarf, shaker, and streamer songs

Perfect for public librarians leading infant through preschool storytimes, this in-person workshop won't be recorded, so register today to join a fun-loving group who, like you, want nothing more than to nurture a love of reading in our youngest library users.
