Program Description

Event Details

Customer service may look different in a public service setting, but it is a vital part of your library's offering.

During this year's Customer Service Week (October 7 - 11), celebrate staff contributions and review best practices. Join guest presenter Savannah Ball, from the Wichita Public Library system, as she shines a spotlight on the essential skills library staff need to foster a culture of positive customer interactions, even during difficult situations.

In this webinar, you will discuss:

  • Steps to encourage good customer service from staff
  • Enforcing policies in a positive manner
  • Evaluating services and policies through a customer service lens
  • Providing good customer service to all types of patrons

Guest presenter Savannah Ball has worked with public libraries for 20 years. She has served in various customer service-related roles in public libraries and as the Consultant and Continuing Education Coordinator at the Southwest Kansas Library System. She is currently the Education & Engagement Manager for the Wichita Public Library System. Savannah’s work is centered around the most important part of every library – the people in them.
