It’s time to face it: the social media landscape is in chaos. Between the upheaval at Twitter, allegations of espionage by TikTok, and never-ending algorithm changes, the future of social seems very uncertain. Platforms are losing followers, and even if you have built a large follower base, it’s likely that most of those users aren’t even seeing your posts.

But don’t despair! Join library marketing expert Angela Hursh to learn how to harness the power of more effective library marketing tools: email, blogs, and your staff. Get practical, up-to-the-minute advice for building an audience using your owned properties. And find out how to deliver irresistible content to maximize your reach without spending all day on promotions (unless you want to!).

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How to build a subscriber list made up of more than names and email addresses, but real, engaged library users
  • Simple changes that will increase effectiveness for your library’s e-newsletters or emails
  • Tips for using a blog to control the narrative around your library, pitch stories to the press, and boost your library’s ability to be found in search
  • How to use your staff’s expertise to deliver promotional messages that cater to your unique community

Guest presenter Angela Hursh helps libraries create effective and engaging ways to market their collections--both at her job as Manager of Engagement and Marketing with NoveList and as author of the blog SuperLibraryMarketing.com and host of the YouTube series The Library Marketing Show. Her background includes more than six years in marketing for the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and more than 20 years as an Emmy-award winning broadcast TV journalist. A 2023 Library Journal Mover & Shaker, Angela is passionate about library marketing and has expertise in collection marketing, strategy, public relations, email, and social media.
