Meet us where the wild things are... the Sedgwick County Zoo! Join Robin Hargrave, SCKLS youth and school services coordinator, for an afternoon adventure to explore all things Summer Library Program through the lense of the 2024 theme Adventure Begins at Your Library.

Explore Zoo Reach, an education program available at the zoo, and discover what an "Animal Ambassador" is. Both great complements to this year's theme and perhaps your program.  

Throughout this adventure-packed workshop, you will: 

  • Explore services provided by the Sedgwick County Zoo
  • Discuss summer library program topics with colleagues
  • Consider how community agencies that provide animal services could benefit your summer library program participants

Event Schedule

1:00 – 1:30 p.m.  Meet and greet | Introductions
1:30 – 2:30 p.m.  Keynote with Bailey Thomas, SCZ elementary education specialist
2:30 – 3:30 p.m.  Summer Library Program discussion and Q&A
3:30 – 4:30 p.m.  Optional: Tour the zoo, compliments of SCKLS!

So, grab your summer library programming team, strap on your walking shoes, have your map handy, and join SCKLS for a wild adventure at the Sedgwick County Zoo!

Guest presenter Bailey Thomas, elementary education specialist at the Sedgwick County Zoo, is an animal, nature, and environmental conservation enthusiast. She especially enjoys sharing her love of animals and environmental conservation with children. Bailey is a former teacher and has her masters in education.
